Putin and Egyptian President al-Sisi held a telephone conversation

Egyptian President Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. This was reported on January 21 in the office of the Egyptian leader.
It is noted that the heads of state discussed the implementation of joint projects and the situation in the Middle East. In addition, economic issues and the Ukrainian crisis were stipulated.
"During the talks, the parties discussed ways to strengthen relations between Egypt and the Russian Federation, in particular the project of the Russian industrial zone on the bank of the Suez Canal, as well as the construction of the nuclear power plant "Ed-Dabaa" - wrote the official representative of the Egyptian President Mohammed al-Shinawi on his page in Facebook (owned by the corporation Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
The leaders also touched upon the current situation in Lebanon and Syria.
In late October 2024, al-Sisi and Putin, in a joint statement, called for an immediate de-escalation in the Middle East region, which threatens dangerous consequences for the security of the entire world.
At the same time, during a meeting with the Egyptian president at the BRICS summit, the Russian leader said that Moscow is interested in developing cooperation with Cairo, a process that is proceeding at a steady pace. Al-Sisi, in turn, highlighted the intensification of trade in national currencies.
