A criminal case has been initiated against the former deputy head of the Kirov Region Department of Internal Affairs of Russia, who is suspected of bribery and abuse of power. This was reported by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) in the region on January 21.

According to the investigation, the defendant in the period from November to December 2023 received a bribe in the form of a car from a representative of a joint-stock company, the rental value of which amounted to 700 thousand rubles.

In addition, he gave his subordinate knowingly unlawful instructions to conduct vocational aptitude tests with employees, which were not actually carried out.

"The illegal actions of the man were revealed by employees of the regional FSSB of Russia," - stated on the website of the agency.

At the moment the suspect is detained, the details of what happened are being established. The investigation intends to petition the court to elect a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

On the same day, the deputy head of the city district of Ruza was detained on suspicion of corruption. The official is suspected of taking a bribe in a large amount (paragraph "c" part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It is specified that the suspect personally received from the representative of a commercial organization at least 325 thousand rubles for signing the acts of completed works and the act of commissioning of sewage treatment facilities in the village of Likhachevo.
