Deeper meaning: political-military departments are created in submarine formations

Staff military-political departments in diesel submarine formations will be staffed with deputy police officers from February this year. They will consist of three officers each. Before taking up their duties, the future submariners will undergo light-diving training, sources in the Defense Ministry told Izvestia.
The sources said that the experience of the Defense Ministry and the combat service of ships and submarines showed that the military need such specialists. The deputy police officers will have to explain to the personnel the meaning of the decisions of the country's top military and political leadership, including the goals and tasks that the Russian Armed Forces are solving during the special operation.
In addition, deputy police officers will be responsible for the moral and psychological state of the personnel. Submarine crews must be morally stable in a combat situation and ready to fulfill the tasks assigned to them, Izvestiya's interlocutors noted.
According to them, in 2024, the intensity of combat service of diesel submarines in the Russian Navy, as well as of all formations, was high and is unlikely to decrease this year. Submarine crews are on long campaigns, and in such a case the role of deputies in maintaining the combat microclimate is especially great.
In the conditions of the ongoing special military operation the creation of military-political departments is the right decision, Igor Kurdin, the head of the St. Petersburg Club of submarine sailors, Captain First Rank, told Izvestia.

Officers from military-political departments will have to pass not only diving training, but also a medical commission, which allows them to go on submarine trips, Yevgeny noted.
- In addition to the duties of military-political work, they will have to learn the structure of the boat, receive rescue and survivability training. These officers will have to become full-fledged crew members, and for this they will have to master a large layer of knowledge," he summarized.
Implementing the experience of the NWO
The Russian Armed Forces are scrutinizing the experience gained during the military special operation and making changes to staff schedules based on it. Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that in the battalions of the Airborne Troops it is planned to introduce the posts of deputy commander for logistics. He will be responsible for the supply of ammunition, equipment, ammunition and other materiel for his units.
In the course of combat operations, paratrooper battalions often operate in isolation from the regiment's main forces, and they also often allocate assault groups to carry out independent tasks. They require additional ammunition, food, equipment, ammunition, and more.
