Forward of St. Petersburg hockey club SKA 32-year-old Evgeny Kuznetsov will not be able to participate in the Match of Stars in the regular championship of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) due to injury. This was reported in the press service of the club on January 21.

"Friends, unfortunately, SKA forward Evgeny Kuznetsov will not be able to participate in the Match of Stars of the KHL. The injury received by Kuznetsov in the game against CSKA will not allow him to come to Novosibirsk in February," - noted in the Telegram-channel.

It is noted that the hockey player was injured in a game against CSKA Moscow on December 25, colliding on the ice with opponent Vladislav Provolnev.

The match of the KHL stars will be held on February 8 and 9 in Novosibirsk at the stadium "Sibir-Arena".

Kuznetsov has played 33 games for SKA this season, in which he scored 33 points.

On December 25, 2024, a match between CSKA Moscow hockey club and SKA St. Petersburg took place. The meeting ended with the score 6:5 (5:0, 0:1, 1:4) in favor of the Moscow club. CSKA became the second club in KHL history to score two goals in the opening minute of a game. SKA forward Evgeny Kuznetsov left the ice in the second period.
