Gosuslugi data were not affected in the hacker attack on Rostelecom
The infrastructure of Rostelecom's contractor was subjected to a hacker attack, which did not affect the "Gosuservices" service. This was reported on January 21 in the Ministry of the Russian Federation.
"Today a hacker attack was made on the infrastructure of the contractor "Rostelecom". It did not affect in any way "Gosudservices". All data of the portal is under reliable protection. Sensitive personal data of private clients of the contractor company also did not leak out," the ministry said in its Telegram channel.
The resources mentioned in anonymous messages from the Web about the hacker attack are not used to serve individuals, so personal data are not stored or processed on them.
The agency pointed out that Rostelecom uses an echeloned approach to security in its systems, applying a set of measures that complement each other. At the same time, the company's information security specialists are not responsible for the contractor's systems.
At the moment, the Ministry is working together with Rostelecom to strengthen the protection of this segment of the infrastructure. Employees of the ministry and the company are in contact, have taken all necessary measures related to the hacker attack and are investigating it.
Earlier in the day, Rostelecom said it had recorded "information security incidents" at one of its contractors who maintain the company's Internet resources. Rostelecom emphasized that sensitive client data was not affected, but asked users to change their passwords and set up two-factor authentication.
At the same time in the network there were reports that the hacker attack involved the group Silent Crow, which said that allegedly gained access to information related to 154 thousand e-mail addresses and 101 thousand phone numbers, reports "Gazeta.Ru" .
