The driver of a gasoline truck was sentenced for the death of a family with a child in a road accident

The Sovetsky District Court of Chelyabinsk sentenced a local resident to six years in prison for a traffic accident that killed a family with a two-year-old child. This was reported to Ura.ru news agency by the court's press service.

The accident occurred on December 18, 2022 on the highway "Irtysh" near Kurgan. A resident of Chelyabinsk, driving a gasoline truck, "committed criminal negligence", the court noted, as a result of which the big truck made a sliding collision with the "Gazelle", and then collided head-on with the "Lada Priora".

In the "Priora" at the time of the accident was a married couple with a two-year-old child. The family died on the spot.

The court found the Chelyabinsk resident guilty under part 5 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules, causing the death of two or more persons by negligence") and sentenced him to six years in a penal colony and deprivation of rights for two and a half years.

In addition, the civil claim of the injured party was partially satisfied. In their favor as compensation for moral damage from the perpetrator recovered 9 million rubles.

In the fall of 2024, the court in Ussuriysk (Primorsky Krai) passed a verdict on the case of a drunken accident, in which an elderly man was killed and his wife was seriously injured. A Toyota Crown crashed into their Niva.
