Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake guitarist John Sykes has died
British guitarist and songwriter John Sykes, who played in the bands Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake, died at the age of 65. This is reported on January 21 by the British newspaper The Guardian.

John Sykes was born in 1959 in the UK. On the guitar he learned to play independently. In 1982, Sykes joined the Irish band Thin Lizzy and participated in the creation of the album Thunder and Lightning. In 1984 he joined Whitesnake, where he wrote guitar parts and a number of lyrics for several albums. He then embarked on a solo career and released four studio albums.
