Nearly 550 drivers fined for hidden license plates in 2024
In 2024, about 550 drivers received fines for driving with hidden license plates on the Central Ring Road (CRR) and M-12 "Vostok". In total, last year employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate and Avtodor conducted more than 120 raids, the state company reported in its Telegram channel on January 21.
Most of the protocols were drawn up for hidden license plates, about 350 drivers were punished. More than 70 documents were drawn up for motorists if the license plates were dirty. More than 120 times drivers were penalized for other violations, said in the press service of "Avtodor".
It is noted that only in the Moscow region on the M-12 "Vostok" and the Central Ring Road 126 protocols were drawn up, 76 of them - for the use of special devices or hidden license plates. At the same time on the Central Ring Road thanks to the raids the share of hidden license plates for the year decreased almost 2.5 times.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on deprivation of license for a period of 1 to 1.5 years when driving a car with license plates that are hidden with the help of special devices on October 14 last year.
January 17, it was reported that the Russian government extended the right to free travel on toll federal highways for electric cars until the end of 2025. At the same time, owners of electric cars-foreign cars will now have to pay for travel. The benefit applies only to owners of Russian-built cars in order to stimulate demand for domestic electric cars.
