The Sovfed allowed the "notification order" of Trump's dialog with Ukraine
US President Donald Trump understands that it is necessary to conduct a dialog with Ukraine "in a notified manner". This statement was made on January 21 by the vice-speaker of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev.
"Trump understands perfectly well that it is possible to communicate with Ukraine in a notification order, as he already does with Europe," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, "it was not for nothing that nothing was said" about Ukraine in the speech of the American leader during the inauguration. At the same time, Kosachev noted that Kiev's position "is not so important" within the framework of the statements "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine."
The vice-speaker of the Sovfed stressed that without dialog with Russia, Trump will not be able to achieve an end to the conflict. He also added that ultimatums and new sanctions will not work in this case.
Earlier in the day, Austrian geopolitical analyst Patrick Poppel told Izvestia that the US president is capable of ending the Ukrainian conflict because he significantly influences decisions in the area of support for the Kiev regime. According to him, Trump will either toughen measures for Russia and supply Kiev with more weapons to escalate, or completely stop supporting Ukraine, making the country's situation more difficult.
On the eve of the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the end of the conflict in Ukraine is possible if Moscow and Kiev are ready to compromise. He called ending the conflict a Trump priority and specified that "some of the preparatory work" has already begun.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
