Khabarovsk residents complain of rat infestation

Residents of Khabarovsk told about the rat infestation. An eyewitness filmed a lot of rodents at a house on Admiral Yumashev Street. Local residents said that there is a family of rats, which are not afraid of people at all.

PrimaMedia news agency refers to the video of residents of houses on Belyaeva Street. The footage shows about 20 rats living in the area of one of the garbage containers. In the same area, as the agency writes, rats are crawling on trees, organizing battles, rushing under the feet of passers-by, running out onto the roadway.

The situation is similar in other parts of the city.

Specialists explain the invasion of rodents by relatively warm winter and overflowing garbage containers.

In late November, it was reported that in prisons in the UK prisoners suffer from the invasion and bites of rats and poisonous spiders. This was reported by the British media with reference to the analysis of independent observers. Thus, in HMP Pentonville prison, the rat infestation was so severe that the kitchen had to be temporarily closed in April 2024 for three months.
