Ukraine detains AFU chief psychiatrist on suspicion of enriching himself on $1 mln
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained the chief psychiatrist of the Ukrainian army on suspicion of enriching himself by $1m, the agency's press service said on 21 January.
It was specified that he is also deputy head of the central military medical Commission of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"The SBU detained the chief psychiatrist of the AFU, who during the <conflict> got rich for more than $ 1 million. At the same time, the figure did not reflect the relevant property in his declaration and formalized it on his wife, daughter, sons and other outsiders", - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel.
In addition, it was reported that during the searches at the detainee found $152 thousand and €34 thousand.
Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexei Goncharenko (recognized in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) said that the person involved in the case is Oleg Druz.
Earlier, on January 18, the press service of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said that the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, a member of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure of the country is suspected of illegally transport ing 23 people abroad under the pretext of accompanying the deputy as drivers. According to the investigation, this took place in 2022-2023. Some of those who left returned on their own, while three people finally left Ukraine.
