French border guards rescue 84 migrants in the Channel Strait
In France, border guards rescued 84 migrants who were trying to cross the Channel on a boat. About it on January 20 reports the TV channel BFMTV.
"Arriving at the site, a patrol boat noted that the boat was stuck on a sandbank. Additional resources were mobilized as the shipwrecked people were also isolated by the tide," the statement said.
As noted by the representatives of the service, there were no casualties in the incident.
Earlier, on November 4, 2024, a boat with migrants from different countries capsized near the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean, killing at least 25 people. The boat capsized on the route used by illegal migrants to get from Comoros to the French overseas department of Mayotte.
