Media reported on Trump's willingness to ban Washington's aid to other countries
US President Donald Trump intends to sign an executive order banning aid to other states from Washington. This was reported by the Daily Mail on Monday, January 20, citing interlocutors in the new White House administration.
According to the officials, the ban on foreign aid will always work unless it is about achieving US strategic goals.
"It would likely immediately halt new money from the United States to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)," the publication noted.
The executive order will be one of the first signed by Trump after assuming the presidency for a second term. The publication stressed that this is in line with Trump's program under the slogan "America first".
Earlier it was reported that Donald Trump took the oath of office and became the 47th President of the United States. Along with him, Vice President J.D. Vance took the oath of office in the Capitol rotunda. After taking the oath of office, Trump declared the beginning of "America's golden age" and added that he would put the US first, noting that the country would become bigger, stronger and far more exceptional than ever before.
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote and Harris received 47.4%. The vote totals were met with prolonged applause at Trump's campaign headquarters. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state is to end military conflicts in the world.
