A deputy shared his impressions of the Lada Aura used in the State Duma

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs Yaroslav Nilov shared on Monday, January 20, his impressions of the Lada Aura car, which the heads of committees and commissions of the lower house of parliament are driving.

"I have been driving it since December. It has not broken down yet. The car is comfortable. I used to have a BMW. Aura does not differ from Western executive class cars. It has an on-board navigation computer, automatic gearbox," - said the MP in a conversation with "Abzats".

He noted that he actually fulfilled a dream when he moved to this car.

"For 35 years I lived in Togliatti near AvtoVAZ, and I had a dream to have a Lada," Nilov shared.

On October 9, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the start of serial production of the Lada Aura car, RT reports. The head of state took part in the event via video link.

Pre-series production of Lada Aura cars started at AvtoVAZ at the end of May last year. The model is based on the updated Lada Vesta and is characterized by a 250 mm longer wheelbase. Aura is equipped with a 1.8 liter engine in conjunction with a variator taken from Chinese partners.

Earlier, on October 2, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said that 17 chairmen of committees will move to Lada Aura cars, reports NSN. The Presidential Administration specified that the cars will arrive in the State Duma by the end of the year.
