Moldavia plans to publish a textbook justifying Nazi crimes
Moldova plans to publish a history textbook justifying Romania's alliance with the Nazis in World War II. This was announced by the head of the Moldovan national organizing committee "Victory" Alexei Petrovich in his Telegram channel on January 20.
"This textbook fully justifies the participation of fascist Romania in World War II on the side of Nazi Germany," he said.
Petrovic clarified that the publication does not condemn the fascist regime of Marshal Ion Antonescu, who was executed for his war crimes. Instead, the Red Army fighters who liberated Moldova and Romania are called occupiers.
According to Petrovici, there is a revival and spread of Nazism in Moldova, which is manifested in the restoration and creation of monuments to the Romanian occupiers, as well as in similar textbooks. The head of the organizing committee stressed that it is hard to imagine a greater insult to the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime.
During the Second World War, Moldova was under the occupation of the German troops and the Romanian army from 1940 to 1944. On the territory of the Moldavian SSR the occupants created about 50 concentration camps. During the war years up to 300 thousand people died. Kishinev was liberated from the fascists on August 24, 1944.
