US President Donald Trump on January 20 after taking the oath of office announced the beginning of the "golden age of America".

"The Golden Age of America begins right now," Trump said in his inauguration speech, which was broadcast on CNN.

He added that he will put America first, noting that the country will be bigger, stronger and far more exceptional than ever before. Trump also noted that he was "saved by God to make America great again" during the first assassination attempt.

In addition, the new U.S. president promised to quickly bring hope, security and peace back to Americans.

"We will move deliberately and quickly to restore hope, prosperity, security, and peace for citizens of all races, religions, colors, and creeds - for American citizens. January 20, 2025 is a day of liberation," the American leader added.

In addition, he assured that the country's sovereignty will be returned and there will be a balance on the "scales of justice." Trump also noted that he intends to stop the cruel and dishonest use of the Justice Department and the government as "weapons."

The American leader noted that his return to the White House would end a period of crisis and usher in a new era of national success. He emphasized that the competence and integrity of the U.S. government has been restored, and pointed out that his re-election is a mandate to finally eliminate treachery and return to the people their freedom, trust and well-being.

The inauguration ceremony of the US President was held in the rotunda of the Capitol building - the first time in 40 years the event was not held outdoors.

Earlier it was reported that Donald Trump took the oath of office and became the 47th President of the United States. Along with him, the oath of office in the rotunda of the Capitol was taken by Vice President JD Vance.

The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, while Harris received 47.4%. The voting results were met with prolonged applause at Trump's campaign headquarters. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state is to end military conflicts in the world.
