Forest crops will be cared for in the Moscow region

In the Moscow region in 2025 will carry out agrotechnical and silvicultural care on the area of 11.5 thousand hectares. This will improve the quantitative and qualitative indicators of plants, the press service of the regional forestry committee reported on Monday, January 20.

"Reforestation - a long, multi-year work, which includes consecutive stages, on the qualitative performance of each of which directly depends on the final result", - said the head of the Committee Evgeny Agulov, his quote is quoted by the online edition "Podmoskovye Segodnya".

So, from the area of 6 thousand hectares it is planned to remove unwanted trees and shrubs, and on the area of 4 thousand hectares will be performed agrotechnical care. For this purpose, specialists will conduct suppression, mowing of herbaceous and tree and shrub vegetation. Also on the territory of 1.5 thousand will plant new trees.

Earlier it was reported that in the Moscow region in 2024 in the framework of environmental actions planted 180 thousand trees and shrubs. The events were attended by 173 thousand people.
