In a nursing home in Belgrade, eight people were killed in a fire and seven others were injured. This was reported by Reuters on January 20.

It is specified that the fire occurred at 3:30 (5:30 Moscow time). At the time of the incident, 30 people were in the building.

"The fire was quickly extinguished and all the injured were taken to hospitals in Belgrade. One woman is in serious condition and is on a ventilator," the agency's publication stated.

According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by arson.

Earlier, on January 12, six people died and eight were injured in a fire at a restaurant in the Czech town of Most. According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was the overturning of a gas heater. It was followed by an explosion of a cylinder with propane-butane mixture. By the time the fire brigade arrived, the fire had completely engulfed the building.

12 specialists were involved in extinguishing the fire, who evacuated some of the residents of neighboring buildings. The circumstances of the start of the fire are being established.
