In Tver, Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions of Central Russia on January 21 is expected to cool down to -15 degrees Celsius. This was reported in local centers for hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring (HEMS) on January 20.
"In the coming days we expect air temperature to drop due to the penetration of arctic air to the south, and on the night of January 21 the air temperature will drop to -5...-10 degrees Celsius across the region, and in the north-east of the region - to -15 degrees Celsius," the head of the Tver Center for Hydrometeorology Tatyana Zimina told TASS.
She added that the daytime temperature will be -3...-8 degrees. Nevertheless, this cooling will not last long, and on January 23, the temperature will rise during the day to 0...-5 degrees, there will be light snow, and on January 26, the air will warm up to positive values, precipitation and icy conditions are possible.
As for the Yaroslavl region, the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said that there January 21 and 22 at night will be -10 ... -15 degrees, during the day - -6 ... -11 degrees. On the roads may be icy in places, there will be no significant precipitation, the wind is expected at a speed of 7-12 m / s.
DHMS for Ivanovo region reported on its website that night temperatures on January 21 in the region will fall to -10...-12 degrees, and daytime - to -8...-10. In the Kostroma region, according to the forecast on the website of the regional Central State Hydrometeorological Service, nighttime temperatures will be -10...-15 degrees, and daytime temperatures will be -8...-13.
Earlier in the day, leading specialist of the information agency Meteonovosti Tatyana Pozdnyakova told Izvestia that January 21 will be the only day close to the climatic norm for this period of winter this week. In Moscow, the minimum temperature will be at -7...-9, and in the region - up to -10. The maximum temperature in the capital during the day is expected to be -4...-6, in the region -3...-8.
