New fares for public transport in Murmansk are set on Monday, January 20. The cost of tickets has not changed for two years, despite the growth of costs for transportation maintenance and insurance.

"Further restraint of tariffs will lead to losses of organizations-carriers and, as a consequence, to the deterioration of the quality of services," - said the head of the Committee on tariff regulation of the region Elena Stukova during an operational meeting, reports IA "Beeport".

Now the cost of tickets will vary depending on the method of payment. Thus, the price for travel in public transport of the regional capital will be 50 rubles for cash and 41 rubles when paying through the SBP.

In suburban traffic fares will vary from 4.1 to 5.2 rubles per 1 km, and in intercity traffic - from 3.7 to 4.6 rubles per 1 km, depending on the municipality.
