Five people suffered carbon monoxide poisoning in Nizhny Novgorod region
In Lyskovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod region, five people were poisoned by carbon monoxide. This was reported on January 20 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
The agency reports that the incident occurred in the evening on January 19 in the village of Niva in the apartment of the house on Soldatova Street. Then the owner of the apartment, two men and two of her grandchildren felt sick. The victims were hospitalized in a medical institution, where they were provided with medical care. The Office specified that the lives of the victims are not threatened.
"The apartment, in which the poisoning occurred, is equipped with a gas column, which at the time of the incident was turned on together with forced ventilation, which could lead to a change in pressure in gas communications and the formation of a back draft," - added in the press service.
At the moment investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
In the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the region in Telegram-channel specified that the agency will assess the implementation of legislation in the maintenance of equipment.
Earlier, on January 10, a criminal case was opened in St. Petersburg over the fact of carbon monoxide poisoning of three children in the apartment of a residential building. The children were hospitalized in the hospital, where they received medical care. The criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements").
