The inauguration ceremony of the 47th President of the United States Donald Trump has begun in Washington.
The event, as previously announced by Trump himself, takes place in the rotunda of the Capitol. During it, Trump and his Vice President JD Vance will take the oath of office. Also, the head of state will outline the main directions of the work of his administration.
"Izvestia" is conducting a live broadcast of the event.
The ceremony will be followed by a 21-gun salute. The singer Kid Rock and the band The Village People will perform at the ceremony.
A day earlier, Trump promised his supporters that a four-year period of decline in the United States would end at the time of his inauguration.
The Guardian also wrote about Trump's intentions to sign more than 100 documents on the first day of his presidency. According to it, the measures also include a program of mass deportation of migrants, the declaration of a state of emergency at the border and the introduction of a 25 percent tariff on American exports.
The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51 percent of the vote, while Harris received 47.4 percent. The voting results were met with prolonged applause at Trump's campaign headquarters. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state is to end military conflicts in the world.
