Changan renamed CS55 Plus crossover in Russia

Changan has renamed the CS55 Plus crossover on the Russian market. The model has joined the Uni line of cars and was named Uni-S, according to the press service of Changan Motors Rus, which was received by Izvestia on January 20.

The company said that the crossover was renamed to "emphasize the conceptual design and high-tech solutions of the model." As explained by the executive director of Changan Motors Rus Alexander Kulagin, the line of cars Uni is planned to be separated into a separate brand, so the company did not wait for the change of generation of the model.

At the end of 2024, the Uni-S/CS55 Plus model entered the top ten best-selling models on the Russian car market with the result of 38.4 thousand units, taking the ninth place.

Changan Uni-S is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with an output of 181 hp (280 Nm) with a seven-speed "robot" with a double "wet" clutch. The crossover is presented in three configurations and costs from 2.84 million rubles (2024 model year).

January 17, it was reported that the multimedia system of the new Jaecoo J5 crossover will have a built-in karaoke mode. The audio system with reverberation effect and sound processing technology is capable of combining vocals and background music. Jaecoo J5 will be the most compact model in the brand's lineup, it will appear on the Russian market in early 2025.

Also on Friday, it became known that the plant "Automotive Technologies" in Kaluga received the first machine kits Haval M6, the company is preparing for serial production of crossovers. Large-scale assembly of Haval M6 will begin in Kaluga in February, and the cars may appear at dealers in March.
