More than 100 houses were damaged in Kursk region due to AFU attacks
More than 100 houses have been damaged in Kursk Region as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on January 20 by Alexei Dedov, acting deputy chairman of the government of the region.
"On shelling. We have a total of 93 households and 21 apartment buildings have suffered over the past few days," he said at a meeting of the regional government. It was broadcast on the page of the press service of the Kursk region in the social network "VKontakte".
According to him, 831 window blocks were damaged, 194 of them were restored during the week. In addition, 10 roofs in private houses were repaired, three more - in apartment buildings.
Dedov said that the work on the restoration of housing will be completed by the end of January.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian air defense forces destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, of which three were shot down over the Kursk region. The day before, on January 19, an AFU missile was destroyed in the sky over the Kursk region.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
