Slovakia's prime minister accused the opposition of preparing a coup d'état
The opposition Progressive Slovakia party is seeking a coup d'état in the country following the Ukrainian scenario. This statement was made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo in his video message on January 19.
"We are preparing for all possible alternatives. We will be ready for everything. Especially for a 'Maidan', that is, a coup d'état through the street, which the opposition, in particular the Progressive Slovakia party, is pushing so hard for," Pravda portal quoted him as saying.
According to Fitzo, he sees no problem with the opposition delegation traveling to Kiev.
"If you have no authority or responsibilities, you can negotiate on a space station on Mars," he emphasized, adding that representatives of Progressive Slovakia "kissed Zelensky's ring" by swearing allegiance to him.
Earlier in the day, the Slovak prime minister also said that he was not going to be a servant of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024), and also announced his readiness to veto financial aid to the Kiev regime from the European Union (EU) because of the refusal of gas transit from Russia.
"Gazprom said it would suspend gas supplies through Ukraine on January 1, 2025. On the same day, Fitzo noted that this would have drastic consequences for the EU, but not for Russia.
