Putin presents Iranian president with samovar and painting of winter Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin presented his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian with a traditional domestic samovar and a painting with a winter landscape of Russia in honor of his official visit to Moscow. This was reported by VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin in a video published in his Telegram channel on January 19.

"Mr. President, this is in memory of Russia, of your visit. This is what Russia looks like in winter. Well, this is our traditional product - samovar," Putin said.

The Iranian president added that the word "samovar" is also used in his homeland.

Pezeshkian was also given a tour of the Kremlin after talks with the Russian leader. The politician's attention was drawn to the throne in St. Andrew's Hall, which is decorated with a mantle that looks like a celestial vault.

On January 17,the Iranian president arrived in Moscow on an official visit. Among those welcoming him were Sergei Tsivilev, head of Russia's Energy Ministry, and representatives of the Foreign Ministry. Pezeshkian laid a wreath of scarlet roses and white lilies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden.

Later that day, the Iranian president met with the Russian leader, who emphasized the importance of the Iranian counterpart's visit as it allows discussing all aspects of Moscow-Tehran relations. After the meeting, Pezeshkian and Putin signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement.

The Iranian president noted after signing the document that Russia plays an important role in the Islamic Republic's foreign policy, and the new treaty will open "a new big chapter" in the partnership between the states. The Russian leader, in turn, pointed out that ties between Moscow and Tehran are large-scale and mutually beneficial, and they are developing in the economy, culture and social sphere.
