Warsaw has received the first batch of US-made Abrams tanks in the newest version of the M1A2SEPV3 - 28 units. This was announced by Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysz on January 19.

"The first tanks of the M1A2SEPV3 Abrams version are already in Poland's stockpile," he wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter).

The minister added that after the inspection, the armored vehicles will be sent to Poland's voivodeship.

According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, the country should receive a total of 250 such tanks.

Before that, on January 14, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Germany will deploy Patriot surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs) in the Polish town of Rzeszów, which is located near Poland's border with Ukraine, by the end of January. He specified that the settlement is of great importance as a logistical hub for assistance to Kiev.
