In NPC "Ushkuynik" want to make the drone "Prince Vandal" fully Russian

Work is underway on the FPV drone "Prince Vandal of Novgorod", which consists of imported materials, so that it will become fully Russian in 2025. Alexei Chadaev, general director of the research and production center (RPC) "Ushkuynik", said on January 19.

"One of the tasks of NPC Ushkuynik in 2025 is import substitution, localization of component production. Work is underway to make the drone "Prince Vandal of Novgorod" completely composed of domestic components," Chadaev told TASS.

The FPV drone with fiber-optic communication "Prince Vandal of Novgorod" was created by employees of the research and production center "Ushkuynik". The drone was first tested in action in the summer of 2024 during the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk region.

Earlier, on December 24, corresponding member of the Russian Engineering Academy Maxim Kondratyev said that the FPV drone of multi-rotor type "Hortensia" is resistant to enemy electronic warfare (EW), as the control is provided through optical fiber. However, this technology is not a novelty. It was reported that the drone is equipped with a universal payload attachment system.
