The West is trying to organize a color revolution in Serbia with the help of students. President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic said this on January 18 on Happy TV.

"All this is done by foreign instructors, we all know it, there are also natives of Eastern countries among those who did this dirty work for the Western agent network," the head of state said. His words are quoted by the N1 edition.

According to Vucic, foreign agents contact opposition students and urge them to block traffic on roads in Belgrade.

"We will wait until the last moment when we will be forced to react, when they will start blocking the highways and everything else severely. <...> We will tolerate it until a certain point, and then we will act according to the rules that the state has to follow," the Serbian president emphasized.

Earlier, on November 8, 2024, it was reported that protesters in Serbia blocked Varadin bridge over the Danube River, which is one of the main bridges in Novi Sad, demanding the dismissal of the country's leadership after the tragedy at the railway station, where 14 people died as a result of the collapse of the overhang.

On November 5, riots broke out near the Novi Sad train station building. Initially the procession was relatively calm, but soon the rally began to turn violent - people threw paint and painted with bloody handprints on the building of the City Assembly, and then broke its windows. The police fired tear gas against the demonstrators. For his part, Vucic said that those responsible for the riots in Novi Sad would be punished.
