In Russia, from March 1, under new rules, registration of vehicles with the State Automobile Inspection Service will take place without the need to provide a CMTPL insurance policy. Anatoly Mironov, head of the branch of the Moscow Bar Association "Protection" Anatoly Mironov told the agency " Prime " about the new rules of car registration on January 19.
"This will simplify the procedure for traffic police officers, and for vehicle owners will speed up registration," he said.
Mironov explained that changes in the registration rules will not lead to an increase in uninsured cars on the roads, because the owner comes to the GIBDD by car, which he intends to put on the register, and any movement requires an insurance policy. Therefore, the policy will still be required to operate the car.
According to the amendments, also from March 1, the owner will be able to stop the registration of the car immediately after its sale, if he concluded a contract of sale through "Gosuservices", or certified this contract at the notary, or the change of ownership occurred by court order. This will allow to avoid fines for violations committed by the new owner, said the expert.
Earlier, on January 18, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reminded about the end of the period of automatic renewal of rights in 2025. Thus, driving licenses, which expired or will expire in the period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2025, will need to be replaced, as they will become invalid. At the same time, after the expiration of three years from this date, such driver's licenses must be changed, the agency explained.
