Media reported about 3.5 thousand agrarians who came out to the rally in Berlin
At least 3,500 people took part in a rally in support of changes in agriculture in Berlin. This was reported on January 18 by RBB24 with reference to the local police.
They noted that 3.5 thousand people gathered between the building of the Federal Chancellor of Germany and the Reichstag building. It is expected that the number of participants may increase to 10 thousand.
Protesters under the slogan "We are fed up" demand to adopt a new federal law, which would provide coverage of the costs of producers, as well as funding for animal welfare and environmental protection measures.
According to the newspaper, at the same time as the protests, the Green Week, which is considered one of the world's largest food and agriculture exhibitions, is continuing in Berlin.
Earlier, on January 3, representatives of the agricultural sector in Poland protested in front of the European Commission (EC) building in Warsaw. Several thousand people under the slogan "Five times no" spoke out against imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, environmental regulations of Europe, and the decline of the Polish economy.
Before that, on December 11 last year, protesting farmers on tractors drove to the Parliament building in London.
Back in March 2024, American historian Vladimir Mozhegov said that the farmers' protests in Germany and the country's economic problems in general were the result of successful U.S. actions to destroy the economies of European countries.
