Russian first racket player Daniil Medvedev was fined $76,000 for his behavior at the Australian Open. This was reported by France 24 on January 18.

It noted that the athlete broke his racket on the net during the first round match of the championship and damaged the camera attached to it - for this he was fined $10 thousand.

Medvedev was later increased the fine by $66 thousand "for antics in the next round" when he lost to 19-year-old American Lerner Tien. It is specified that during the match the tennis player threw his racket towards the bench, got into an argument with the umpire after he made a remark and skipped the mandatory post-match press conference.

Earlier, on January 16, Medvedev made rude remarks to a fan who was disturbing him with his shouting during his second-round match against Lerner Tien of the United States at the Australian Open.
