Two workers injured when an acid pipeline burst at a plant in Norilsk

Two workers were doused with acid when an acid pipeline burst at the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant in Norilsk, an inspection is being conducted. This was reported to "Izvestia" in the prosecutor's office on January 18.

The incident occurred in the evening in the sulfuric acid neutralization shop. After the remote start of the wire, two employees of the plant had to open the shut-off valves, but for technical reasons after the start of the pump was doused. The shift supervisor tried to help his colleagues, but he slipped and fell.

The employees received medical assistance, the shift supervisor refused to be hospitalized. There is no threat to the workers' lives. No spillage of acid outside the enterprise was found, the spilled acid is covered with soda and collected in bags.

Investigators went to the scene of the incident, the city Prosecutor's office organized an inspection.

Earlier, December 23, 2024, it was reported about the explosion at the former plant in Abakan, the emergency occurred due to safety violations, two people were killed, four victims of the explosion are in serious condition. The regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The head of the assembly shop was detained.
