Russians have been warned about a new fraudulent scheme via messenger Telegram, which steals data and access to the account through fake voting. This was reported on January 18 in the press service of the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Russian Interior Ministry.

"A user of the messenger Telegram from a familiar contact who has not been online for a long time receives a message asking to vote for someone. The link for "voting" leads to a phishing resource, when going to which the user loses access to his account," - stated in the Telegram channel.

Russians were also urged to be vigilant and not to follow unverified links.
