Three workers killed in coal mine collapse in Tajikistan
In Tajikistan, three workers died as a result of a collapse at the Fon-Yagnob coal mine. This was reported by the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) under the government of the republic in Telegram on January 18.
The collapse of rocks in the mine in Sughd region occurred on January 17.
"Having reached the site of the accident, mine rescuers found and extracted from the mine the bodies of three miners - born in 1978, 1983 and 1984," the report said.
The agency specified that the causes of the collapse are being clarified.
Earlier, December 12, 2024, it was reported that in Yakutia at the coal deposit there was a collapse of rock mass. Under the rubble were two people. One of them was found by EMERCOM employees in consciousness. The second worker died.
