- The United States recognized the absence in the West of analogues of the cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov"
The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov of the Russian Navy is a unique ship that has no analogues in the West. This statement was made by analyst Caleb Larson on January 17.
"Kirov-class line cruisers (according to NATO codification. - Ed.) <...> represent a unique class of nuclear-powered missile ships that have no exact analogs in Western navies," he wrote in an article for the 19FortyFive publication.
The analyst also noted the cruiser's tremendous defense and offensive capabilities, capable of countering NATO formations, including the U.S. Navy's aircraft carrier strike groups.
Earlier, on January 11, it was reported that the cruiser Admiral Nakhimov had physically launched a nuclear reactor. In addition, an employee of the defense industry notified about the completion of the operation to demagnetize the ship.
