30 percent of all those employed in Russia's creative industries work in Moscow


Last year the city organized more than 120 projects for the capital's creative sector - gas pedals, competitions, fairs and meetings with foreign buyers. This was told by Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.
"Today, almost 1.4 million people work in the creative industries of the capital. This is 30% of the total number of people employed in this sector of the economy throughout Russia. Development of creative entrepreneurship is one of the priority directions for Moscow. Only last year about 10 new measures of support appeared in the city", - Sergunina told.
In summer it was decided to create the first Russian cluster of video games and animation in "Skolkovo". It will open already this year and will unite all stages of production and promotion of the product. In addition, the Video Game Factory gas pedal was launched in the city. The participants of the debut stream were 20 teams that developed computer and mobile games of different genres.
Last year the capital also hosted the Moscow International Film Week for the first time. The program included about 1.5 thousand events: film screenings, lectures, master classes, creative meetings. They were attended by 600 thousand people. As a result of the event, four international and five domestic cooperation agreements were concluded.
Other major events were also held in the capital during the year, such as the BRICS+ Fashion Summit forum and Moscow Fashion Week. In total, these events were attended by about 150,000 people, and live broadcasts garnered more than 11 million views.
In November, the Moscow City Government launched another program to support the creative sector - Creative Market. It includes a series of fairs where visitors can get acquainted with the products of the capital's manufacturers. On the stalls are books, clothes, shoes, souvenirs, home goods, toys, drinks, sweets and much more.
