Coconut milk contained in Thai spicy tom yum soup is its big disadvantage. Natalya Pavlyuk, a nutritionist, said on Friday, January 17.

"Coconut contains a large amount of saturated fat. And people with impaired lipid metabolism, with high cholesterol, with heart disease should be careful with products containing coconut (milk, butter)," - said the nutritionist in conversation with "Radio 1".

She added that shrimp put in soup is also high in fat and cholesterol.

"Once a week to consume tom yum is optimal. It is healthier than fast food anyway. Also, it can be prepared at home, which will be safer," the doctor concluded.

January 14, doctor-gastroenterologist, hepatologist of "SM-Clinica," candidate of medical sciences Natalia Vasilyeva spoke about the harm of overeating, as well as the use of fatty and spicy food, RT reports.

Earlier, on January 8, SM-Clinica endocrinologist Ekaterina Kazachkova told Izvestia that the body needs special care during the cold season. Some people's mood drops in winter, and weight grows. According to the specialist, it's not just the lack of sun and movement.

According to her, an important role is played by nutrition, which directly affects the hormonal background.
