US President-elect Donald Trump intends to uncover all money laundering schemes among officials - associates of the current leader of the state, Joe Biden. Thus, those who support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired in May 2024, are also under attack. This was stated to "Izvestia" by political scientist, military analyst Vadim Mingalev.

"Trump wants satisfaction, fiercely wants to unearth all the secrets of the Pentagon and not only, for this he is doing everything possible and impossible. <...> Trump is also making a dig at [Defense Department head] Lloyd Austin, the entire administration, including [U.S. Secretary of State] Anthony Blinken, [presidential adviser] Jake Sullivan and, of course, Joe Biden himself. As of today, the elite that was gathered around Zelensky has begun to split, and this does not bode well for Zelensky," the publication's interlocutor shared.

As an example, he cited the resignation of Laura Cooper, the coordinator of the issues of arms supplies to Ukraine, who worked in the White House since Trump's first term. The Politico newspaper reported on January 6 that she had left her post, citing sources. At the time, it was specified that the resignation occurred on the eve of a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine in Ramstein to discuss aid to Kiev until 2027.

"The sudden dismissal of Laura Cooper, who was one of the main actors in the White House through which money flowed to Ukraine, <...> is a crisis of military supplies to Kiev and financial aid to Zelensky's regime. Perhaps against this backdrop, with Laura Cooper's resignation, there will be no more Ramstein meetings. This is the final winding down of U.S. military aid to Ukraine. It would seem - an insignificant person, but it was this woman who supervised the issues of Russia and Ukraine," - summarized the expert.

Trump, in turn, on January 10, emphasized the need to "end" the Ukrainian conflict. He added that he was preparing for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin after his inauguration, scheduled for January 20.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
