In January the funds of 224 capital libraries were replenished with new children's editions, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"In total, libraries received more than 22 thousand copies of publications for children of different ages. These are collections of poems, adventure stories, scientific-cognitive literature and much more," - said Sergunina.

The list includes almost 90 titles. Among them are works from the catalog "100 best books for children and teenagers". It is annually issued by the Central City Children's Library named after A.P. Gaidar together with partners. Children can also get acquainted with the works of writers, poets and translators, who received last year the Moscow government award named after Kornei Chukovsky. These are, in particular, works by Valentina Partina, Olga Serova and Alena Kashura.

Also on the shelves appeared such books as "Wreath of Bells" by Irina Pivovarova, "Around Antarctica: exploring the icy south" by Tatiana Medvedeva, "White Dove, Black Elephant" by Eva Nemesh.

The selection also includes two books dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the publishing house "Children's Literature" and the 90th anniversary of the Central City Children's Library named after A.P. Gaidar. They contain memoirs of employees, writers, artists, historical sketches.
