On Friday and the next weekend (January 17-19) employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate will conduct mass and continuous checks on the roads, special attention will be paid to the prevention and suppression of drunk driving. Regional departments of the State Automobile Inspectorate informed about the raids.

Preventive measures will be held in the Komi Republic, Kaliningrad, Ivanovo regions, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Ulyanovsk, Tver, Kirov, Ryazan, Penza regions and other regions of the country.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Automobile Inspectorate warns drivers against driving while intoxicated. Mass checks on Russian roads to identify motorists who sat behind the wheel in a drunken state are carried out by traffic inspectors on a regular basis at the weekend.

"We convincingly ask citizens who see that the car is driven by a driver in an inadequate state to report it to the police. This call can save someone's life. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate will definitely take all necessary measures to respond to such reports", - said "Izvestia" deputy head of the propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.

He emphasized that driving while intoxicated is in itself extremely dangerous and unacceptable. In winter, in icy conditions and poor visibility, driving drunk does not leave even the slightest chance for the safe completion of the trip and jeopardizes the lives of surrounding road users, said Belan.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds that driving while intoxicated, as well as the refusal of medical examination, entails the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a large fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver may face criminal liability for these acts.

The day before it was reported that from January 27, the boundaries of the tariff corridor for CMTPL insurance will be expanded for some types of vehicles. In addition, the Bank of Russia announced that in a number of regions at the end of January will be updated the values of the territorial coefficient (CT), which affects the cost of the policy.
