A new breed of fish has been developed in Tyumen
A new breed of fish has been bred at the Tyumen branch of the Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography. Scientists have crossed pelada and nelma, the press service of the agro-industrial portal "AgroXXI" reports.
The final stage of scientific-experimental cultivation of the hybrid has already been completed. The fish was named pelnel. The species showed an increase in weight by 48%, which allowed it to bypass pelchir, which is a hybrid of pelady and chir.
As noted IA "Ura.ru", the new hybrid has the potential to increase the mass of marketable fish by one and a half times. Also pelnel can be used in pasture breeding of whitefish.
Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that all fish products that get on Russian shelves, before and after processing will be checked for parasites. The authorities want to ban the sale of goods even with inanimate larvae, which are visible to the naked eye.
