The mansion from the films "Home Alone" sold for $5.5 million in the United States. This was reported on January 16 portal TMZ.
"The iconic mansion from the movie 'Home Alone' has officially sold - for $5.5 million above the asking price after less than a year on the market," the article said.
The portal added that only the exterior facade of the house was filmed for the movie, as there wasn't too much room inside for the crew. The mansion is located in the village of Winnetka in Illinois.
Last July, CBS News reported that American actor Kevin Spacey's home in Baltimore was sold for $3.24 million at a public auction for debt at the request of the state district court. It was bought by a real estate developer from Maryland in less than 10 minutes.
