Russians injured in accident with bus and cement truck in Sri Lanka

More than 10 people were injured in an accident with a bus carrying Russian tourists and a cement truck in Sri Lanka. This was reported by the publication Ada Derana on January 17.

"A bus carrying a group of foreign tourists collided with a truck carrying cement on the Southern Expressway this morning (January 17. - Ed.). As a result, the bus driver was killed," the publication writes.

It is specified that the accident occurred between Beliatte and Aparekka in the direction of Tangalle. The bus at high speed crashed into the rear of the truck. The injured were hospitalized at the Tangalle Base Hospital.

According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), there were 12 Russians on the bus at the time of the accident.

Earlier, on January 2, in Thailand, a tourist bus carrying Russian tourists suddenly lost control, overcorrected and crashed into the back of a passenger car. As a result of the accident 27 Russians were injured. As specified representatives of ANEX TOUR "Izvestia", the accident occurred when the bus was returning from a one-day excursion. According to the company, the bus was carrying 39 tourists, a guide and a driver.
