Trump nominated deputy head of space intelligence to head the U.S. Air Force
The candidacy of the Deputy Director of the National Directorate of Military Space Intelligence (NDMIS) Troy Meink is nominated for the post of Secretary of the U.S. Air Force (Air Force). This was announced on January 16 by American President-elect Donald Trump.
"Troy Mainik is a true patriot and a respected veteran who understands the strategic challenges facing our Air Force. His experience and dedication to our country will make him an outstanding leader," Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.
According to Trump, Meink will work with Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth to improve the U.S. Air Force.
Earlier in the day, Trump appointed actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone as special envoys to Hollywood. In doing so, Trump referred to them as his new "eyes and ears."
