The French National Assembly did not pass the first vote of no confidence from the party "Unconquered France" to Prime Minister Francois Bayre. This was reported on January 16 by BFM TV with reference to the broadcast of the meeting.

"Resolution of no confidence in the Prime Minister: in favor - 131 <...> the vote of no confidence," - noted in a statement.

It is noted that for the approval of the vote of no confidence it was necessary to get at least 289 votes out of 577.

Before that, on January 14, the leader of the parliamentary faction "Unconquered France" Mathilde Panot demanded a vote of no confidence in the government of French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou.

On the same day, the Prime Minister ruled out the possibility of canceling or suspending the pension reform. He called the abolition of the reform an unforgivable burden on French youth, as then the payment of pensions would fall on their shoulders.

French President Emmanuel Macron signed the law on pension reform on April 15, 2023. It referred, among other things, to the postponement of the statutory retirement age to 64 years. On April 14, the Constitutional Council of France recognized the pension reform as legal.

Thelaw on increasing the retirement age was adopted on March 16 without a vote in Parliament. The next day, the opposition group LIOT put forward a vote of no confidence in the government. Mass protests took place in various cities of France.
