Pavel Volkov, photo correspondent of Izvestia news agency, won the Nikita Tsitsaga Prize "A Look Through the Heart". The journalist received the award during the award ceremony held on January 15 in Moscow.
Pavel Volkov won a commemorative statuette and a cash prize for the photo project "Help from the World: How the People of Kursk Region Live". The series of photos is dedicated to the topic of the attack by the AFU on the position of the Russian Federation in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as an emergency of federal character
The award "A Look Through the Heart" was established in memory of Nikita Tsitsaga, NEWS.ru correspondent, who died on June 16, 2024 near Ugledar while preparing a report on the life of monks during the SSO. This year the award was held for the first time, the theme of the contest works were the fates of victims of man-made disasters and natural calamities, military and political conflicts.
The jury consisted of: Maria Zakharova, director of the Department of Information and Press, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry; Andrey Kondrashov, general director of the Russian news agency TASS; Yulia Belekhova, member of the Russian HRC; Ernest Matskevicius, ART member and host of the program "Vesti" on the channel "Russia 1", special correspondent of "Komsomolskaya Pravda", member of the HRC of the Russian Federation Alexander Kots, journalist and human rights activist Eva Merkacheva, Russian war correspondent, head of the VGTRK bureau in the Middle East and North Africa Evgeny Poddubny, editor-in-chief of NEWS.ru Olga Saburova.
