Best congratulations on the Epiphany in prose

Every year on January 19, Orthodox believers celebrate one of the most important events in the history of the Church - the Epiphany, or Epiphany. On this day, the divine services recall the baptism of Jesus in the waters of the Jordan River and perform the Great Rite of Consecration of Water. "Izvestia" prepared original and touching congratulations in prose to the bright celebration.
How to congratulate on Epiphany: what to say and what to answer
Epiphany of the Lord is one of the 12 most important (bipedal) feasts of the church calendar. According to the Gospel, when Jesus was 30 years old, he went to the Jordan River, where John the Baptist was preaching. Knowing about the imminent appearance of the Savior, the prophet called the people of Israel to repent and purify their souls through baptism with water.
Being the Son of God, Jesus did not need to be freed from sins, but still asked St. John to baptize him. When Christ entered the waters of the Jordan River, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in the form of a dove. Then the assembled heard a voice saying, "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." It is believed that at this moment the first appearance of all three hypostases of the Holy Trinity took place: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Hence the second name of Baptism - Epiphany.
The Orthodox Church does not require believers to observe strict rules when greeting the Epiphany of the Lord. There is a special ceremonial greeting only on Easter: "Christ is Risen! Truly risen!" On other holidays, you can express warm feelings in a free form. The main thing is a sincere desire to share joy with others.
The clergy note that when meeting on January 19, believers need only exchange short phrases: "Happy Epiphany!" or "Happy Epiphany!" A joint visit to the temple and common prayer will say much more than the most lavish wishes. For those who still want to congratulate their loved ones in a more detailed way, Izvestia has prepared some examples.
"Congratulations on the Epiphany of the Lord! May on this bright holiday joy illuminate your home like a ray of sunshine, and your heart be filled with the expectation of a miracle. I wish you peace in your soul, harmony with yourself and others, good health and sincere love!"
"Happy Epiphany, my dear ones! On this wonderful day, our Lord received holy Baptism, showing people the way to salvation. I wish you to continue to follow the path of Orthodox faith. May your life be cloudless and your soul free from sorrows and regrets!"
"Happy Epiphany! May the offenses and hardships flow away like river water, and the soul will always be pure, as on the day when the sacrament of baptism was performed over us. I wish happiness, peace, love and goodness!"
Original new congratulations on the Epiphany of the Lord on January 19
On the Epiphany of the Lord, believers visit temples to collect holy water, which is called hagiasma (translated from Greek as "holy"). It is consecrated according to the Great Rite of Consecration, which takes place only two days a year: on the eve of Epiphany and directly during the celebration. After the services, many people go to rivers and lakes to take a dip in the ice-hole, or spend time with their families.
"Izvestia" shares original congratulations that can be said at the festive table or sent to loved ones in messenger:
"Congratulations on the Feast of the Epiphany! May faith and love warm your hearts, and holy baptismal water dissolve all sorrows and anxieties. May God's grace give strength to do good and keep presence of mind in difficult times. I wish you good health, bright joy and prosperity!"
"On Epiphany Day, we look in two directions at once: toward heaven, where the grace of the Holy Trinity shines, and deep within ourselves, where faith flickers like a church candle. May this heavenly and inner light never leave our lives, illuminating the way to the future. I wish you happiness, health and love!"
"I congratulate you on the Epiphany of the Lord! May on this winter day your soul, like a white dove, easily soar on wings of joy, and from the depths of your heart sound fervent prayers that will surely be heard. God keep you safe from illness, disappointment and pain. I wish you to continue on the path of piety and creation."
"Happy Epiphany! From the bottom of my heart I wish you fulfillment of your cherished wishes, courage, strength of mind and strong, like the baptismal ice, health. May you meet only kind people, reliable friends and faithful allies on the path of life. May the love of loved ones give you warmth and inspiration, and harmony and respect reign in your family!"
