The number of buyers at Moscow fairs increased by 2 million people
The capital's fairs were visited by 8.5 million people in 2024, which is almost 2 million more than a year earlier. The volume of sold products increased by almost 37% - up to 16 thousand tons, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in his personal blog.
"Quality, freshness and variety of goods are the key factors of popularity of Moscow fairs", - the head of the city emphasized. He noted that about 130 sites are located in residential areas, near metro stations and major public transportation stops. Trade is going on daily, except for Monday.
According to Sobyanin, these are not just trading points for a long time. The original pavilions, combined with festival grounds, have become a place of attraction for residents of the district. Here you can relax with the whole family, take part in culinary master classes, do sports, support environmental projects. Ice skating rinks operate at more than two dozen sites.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Muscovites can look forward to weekend fairs. Until last year they were opened exclusively in the warm season, but the demand was so great that half of them were converted into a year-round format. The pavilions were equipped with heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. All of them are made in the same "Wave" style.
Participation in the fairs is free of charge for suppliers. The quality of products is controlled both by the sellers themselves and by specialists from the Veterinary Committee.
