WP has learned of a possible offer to Ramaswamy from Trump to take over as senator
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump called on billionaire and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, if offered, to agree to take the post of Senator from the state of Ohio. This was reported by The Washington Post on January 15, citing sources.
"Trump personally addressed Ramaswamy with a request to accept the appointment, if offered," - stated in the material of the publication.
It is noted that Ramaswamy withdrew his candidacy from consideration for the post of senator after his election as head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) together with American entrepreneur Ilon Musk.
Earlier, on November 12, 2024, Trump announced that American businessman Ilon Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a new entity, the Department of Government Efficiency, which will also oversee anti-corruption efforts, among other things.
Later, on January 6 this year, Musk spoke out about the significance of Trump's election victory for the future of civilization. In his opinion, if the Republican had not won this election, civilization would have been lost.
The election of the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5, 2024. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4% of the vote. Later, the Republican, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
